Curly Sue

I know I've been in hiding mode...still am. And no, no baby yet. We will keep you posted. Let's just say that being dilated to 5 cm means NOTHING to me anymore. If anything, it has given me more anxiety and stress. Anyway, I've been wanting to post a few pics of last Sunday and Sydney's hair. It was Kendall's blessing and Mike and I laughed so hard when I pulled out these curlers...looking at her huge afro, saying maybe we shouldn't "experiment" on important days :) but with a little picking, it turned out pretty cute. I told her she could be Shirley Temple for halloween, she quickly said, "No, I want to be Snow White". So whatever. But she sure thought she looked pretty with her curls. I agree. Enjoy and HOPE to have some news for you all soon.

Baby girls

Thought I would post a few pics of the lovely baby shower my mom and sister in law threw for Kate and Me a few weeks ago in Utah. It was such a nice opportunity to get together with family and friends. I had a great time and Kate and I had such fun opening all the fun girly things. Thanks to all who came and thanks to those who helped.

Go Cubbies!

Payton has been teaching Sydney how to cheer him on...you can hear "goooo cubbies" being shouted from the playroom at various times throughout the day! Payton has been practicing with his gimpy dad and obese mom in the backyard, which is quite a sight! Mike's always saying "Sar, watch your belly!" and getting Mike out at first is proving to be quite easy considering his recent knee surgery. Payton is learning though and enjoying t-ball more and more. For a while there, I thought we had made a mistake because he would MUCH rather shoot hoops than practice his swing. But he is liking the games and hitting "home runs". As for basketball, it will always be his true love, I think. I took him to the last Suns regular season game last week and we had a great time. He begged me to wear my Barbosa shirt...so I put it on for half of the game or so, it about cut off all circulation to my lower body, but Payt was happy. I won't even talk about game #1, I'm moving on with positive thoughts. But I am wondering, is it wrong to make it a matter of prayer? Hee hee. We are definite fans around here. All is going well, countdown to baby time is on. I am growing and getting very anxious to have her out! Here are a few pics of t-ball!

gotta love this boy!

I meant to post pics of Payt's first tball game tonight, but too tired. I came across this picture from soccer that Aunt Judy took and I almost forgot my baby boy ever looked like this! could be confused for a girl, yes...but a very cute one if I do say so myself. Sometimes I miss his long locks...guess we should start growing them again. He did hit a homerun last night, so that was big. We have been so busy around here with surgery and doctors and blah blah blah. Hoping to get my house clean tomorrow. Mike says I am "nesting". Somehow I feel a bit more like a whale than a bird. Love to you all.

easter

it was a lovely easter...home with our kids and family. I made my first ham and burnt my hand on the oven. The ham was good though. Kids had a lot of fun with easter egg hunts and such. they sure looked cute in their easter outfits. Spring is in the air around here, the weather is so nice and the orange blossoms smell divine. I love Arizona right now. I am growing like a weed, sad to say. Our baby girl will be here in 7 weeks or so, I am counting down the days. And then I start thinking about three and I get hives, so maybe I'll just keep her where she is for now. Love to you all and happy spring.

Shake-n-Bake

sneak peak...

I had another ultrasound today and they did a few pics in 3D. She was not very cooperative, her hands are constantly in front of her little face. But we did manage to get a few little glimpses of her face and I thought I would share. Mike and I both think she looks a lot like Sydney. It's amazing we can see her this clearly! Makes me excited to hold her in a few months, let's say 10 weeks...that sounds a lot sooner! Hope everybody is doing well, we send our love!

Baby Sawyer

Sawyer Daniel arrived on February 7th at 5:37 pm. He weighed 8 pounds, 3 ounces and the delivery went so well. Jeannie is doing awesome, everyone is healthy. He is such a sweet little guy, we're glad to have our newest nephew here at last!

Ducky Shower...

We had a baby shower for Jeannie and her baby Sawyer a week or so ago. It was a "duck" theme and we had a great time. She got lots of fun stuff and cute boy outfits for the little guy. It was a fun party and a great excuse to get together for some good food and good company.

I mentioned the song my Uncle Todd and Aunt Jill sang and I guess it's been running through my mom's head too, because she emailed me the lyrics today. I just thought I would post them so I can look back and read them and for any of you that might have known my Grandpa...you will understand why the words touched us so much.

Celebrating Life...

We had such a wonderful experience at my Grandpa's funeral. The whole weekend was emotional, yes, and sad to say goodbye. But what a spiritual and sweet time we had together as a family celebrating the life of such a remarkable man. We had a sourdough pancake party (Grandpa's specialty)at Vance and Char's house after the viewing on Sunday. It was nice to see cousins that I hadn't seen in a long time. The funeral program was just beautiful...all the grandkids sang and brothers spoke and the sisters did the life sketch. Todd and Jill sang the most beautiful song, it's still running through my head. My dad dedicated the gravesite and even though it was 2 below zero and snowing, it was a beautiful spot to lay our beloved grandpa. I was so impressed with the strength of my mom and my grandma. I also was so touched by the love and support of friends and family. I feel so blessed to be part of such a special family, I felt love from cousins and aunts and uncles like I have never felt before. I think we all walked away from the services with a renewed determination to "stay on the path" as Grandpa always urged us to do, even in his last moments on this earth.

4. Buy Mike a new wardrobe (which is something I hear him say he needs on a daily basis...fyi: he really doesn't)

Merry Christmas 2007

Two prego sisters! And the best part? Both babies are little GIRLS! We are thrilled...Can't wait til May & June!
We celebrated New Years Eve at Kate & Andy's house. We did fondu and exchanged gifts and had a great time!

The kids (and dads) had such a fun time "bombing the hill" and snowmobiling at the cabin in Driggs. Thanks to Amy & Jared for such a wonderful time there. Mike and Payt were all bundled up...it was freezing!
Payton and his Optimus Prime Helmet...which was the only thing he asked Santa for this year. You can tell by the look on his face that he loves it! He also got a bunch of cars and a skitter!
Christmas Morning! Sydney got a new table and chairs, tea set and snow white doll (and a whole lot of other stuff!)

update...

Not much of an update, but I thought I should post something or you might all think we dropped off the earth ;) We are well and home from a fun trip to Idaho/Utah (I'll post those pics later). I just have to document the newest member of our family: TINK! Sydney seems to have forgotten who she is, because she is in this get up most of the day! We think she is so funny and once again, Aunt Amy wins the prize for the perfect gift...she gave Sydney a whole bunch of princess dress ups! Hope all your holidays were wonderful. Oh, and JENNA, I resolve to be a better blogger!
