She's 3!

Happy Birthday to our sweet Sydney Kate. We had a great day and a fun party with family and friends to celebrate Sydney's and Joan's birthdays. Mike took the kids to Seven Peaks during the day and then we met at Rock Canyon Park for dinner & cake. The kids had a great time and our little princess was thrilled with her "magical cake" and all the princess presents. Thanks to everyone for all the gifts...it was a great night!

four weeks

I truly cannot believe it's been four weeks since this little girl came to us. It has flown by and she is growing and changing every day. Her days consist of eating and sleeping. We are proudly starting to get on a bit of a schedule instead of eating every 2 hours or whenever she cried (whichever came first)...she likes her swing and she's officially sick of my little "photo shoots". The other kids kiss her constantly and she takes it pretty well. Nighttime still leaves a bit to be desired, but she is a great burper...I will give her that! She is such a sweet little blessing. Happy four weeks princess Avery. Yes, Sydney says she can be a princess too!

"that's love"

Sydney used to hug up to my belly and now she hugs up to Avery's little head and says "that's love"...well actually for any of you that know Sydney's little way of telling you what to say, she says "say, that's love"...anyway, she loves her little baby sister. She is sweet and gentle and loves to hold her. The rest of us love her too...she is a sweet little 3 week old baby girl.

My baby sister had her first baby this morning and my heart aches to be there with her. What a wonderful time for her and Andy, we are so thrilled that miss arleigh is here safe and sound. Arleigh Kate was born today...June 1st at 8:52 a.m. weighing 7 lbs 15 oz and measuring 18 inches. She is just beautiful. Can't wait to get these little girls together. Love you Kate & welcome to the world baby arleigh.

Hard to believe we have multiplied so dramatically, but it's official, we have six kids between the two of us (Hailey & I are considered "us", just so you know) It's quite a crew, but they are good kids. And they were all so excited for Avery to meet her best friend Kendall for the first time! Good times.

the binky fairy...

I got this fantastic idea from my friend Kelly...and it worked like a charm! We've been prepping little miss Sydney for about a month and the other night she said, "mom, I'm ready for the binky fairy to come" and so...she came (thanks Mike for running to walmart to pick out the "beautiful and magical prizes"). Even amid all the change with Avery coming home and such, Sydney has done great without the binky...only asked for it once and I reminded her that the binky fairy took them, she said ok and went to bed. Crazy! Now we just have Bella Dancerella running through our heads constantly, guess it's a good trade! Anyways, it works so if you have a near 3 year old with a binky addiction, give it a go! The pics are saying goodbye one last time to her dear friends and the other is the next morning when the binky fairy left her prizes. she was thrilled. We are proud of you Sydney Kate!

Hey baby

Well, we are home and we officially have 3 kids. Wow! I am feeling great, a little tired, but really great compared to the other two recoveries. The whole experience was just beautiful and wonderful. I am glad to be home and we are all just relaxing and enjoying this little one. Avery is so tiny in my arms, it's just amazing to have a newborn. I honestly can't believe I can love her as much as I do...and the kids just want to hold her all the time. Mike is sweet with her too and she loves to lay on his chest. As for who she looks like, she is changing daily. Definitely she is our child, but she doesn't look exactly like either of them, some say she has a little more Rammell in her than the others. Thanks for all your well wishes, we appreciate your love and friendship.

Welcome Baby!

Last night at 9:11pm we had our sweet Avery come. She weighed 7.9 pounds and was 20 inches long. Sarah is doing great! We were both half asleep when the nurse came in and told us the baby was coming. From the time she broke her water until the baby came, call it 41 minutes max!

Sarah is doing very well and is SO relieved she is finally here. These last two weeks have been complete drudgery. I think if she heard me tell her to "go shopping" or "get a massage" one more time, she would have killed me. Funny how pregnancy changes things. FYI- For all those Husbands that read this (my guess is 1 or 2 and Lee for sure), shopping and massages are a unbelievable way to make your wife happy and induce labor.

Sarah is already up walking around, chatting with her nurse friends, and loving her new girl. Mom and Baby are doing great! Thanks for your support. Here are some pics to enjoy:

Curly Sue

I know I've been in hiding mode...still am. And no, no baby yet. We will keep you posted. Let's just say that being dilated to 5 cm means NOTHING to me anymore. If anything, it has given me more anxiety and stress. Anyway, I've been wanting to post a few pics of last Sunday and Sydney's hair. It was Kendall's blessing and Mike and I laughed so hard when I pulled out these curlers...looking at her huge afro, saying maybe we shouldn't "experiment" on important days :) but with a little picking, it turned out pretty cute. I told her she could be Shirley Temple for halloween, she quickly said, "No, I want to be Snow White". So whatever. But she sure thought she looked pretty with her curls. I agree. Thought I would post a few pics of the lovely baby shower my mom and sister in law threw for Kate and Me a few weeks ago in Utah. It was such a nice opportunity to get together with family and friends. I had a great time and Kate and I had such fun opening all the fun girly things. Thanks to all who came and thanks to those who helped.

Go Cubbies!

Payton has been teaching Sydney how to cheer him on...you can hear "goooo cubbies" being shouted from the playroom at various times throughout the day! Payton has been practicing with his gimpy dad and obese mom in the backyard, which is quite a sight! Mike's always saying "Sar, watch your belly!" and getting Mike out at first is proving to be quite easy considering his recent knee surgery. Payton is learning though and enjoying t-ball more and more. For a while there, I thought we had made a mistake because he would MUCH rather shoot hoops than practice his swing. But he is liking the games and hitting "home runs". As for basketball, it will always be his true love, I think. I took him to the last Suns regular season game last week and we had a great time. He begged me to wear my Barbosa shirt...so I put it on for half of the game or so, it about cut off all circulation to my lower body, but Payt was happy. I won't even talk about game #1, I'm moving on with positive thoughts. But I am wondering, is it wrong to make it a matter of prayer? Hee hee. We are definite fans around here. All is going well, countdown to baby time is on. I am growing and getting very anxious to have her out! Here are a few pics of t-ball!

I meant to post pics of Payt's first tball game tonight, but too tired. I came across this picture from soccer that Aunt Judy took and I almost forgot my baby boy ever looked like this! could be confused for a girl, yes...but a very cute one if I do say so myself. Sometimes I miss his long locks...guess we should start growing them again. He did hit a homerun last night, so that was big. We have been so busy around here with surgery and doctors and blah blah blah. Hoping to get my house clean tomorrow. Mike says I am "nesting". Somehow I feel a bit more like a whale than a bird.
